Plan an Offbeat and Quiet Getaway to Dahej

Situated along the Gulf of Cambay, Dahej falls on the south-west coast of Gujarat. A Special Economic Zone, many big corporations have set up their business units in Dahej. The small sea town has fueled Gujarat’s economic growth by supporting industrial development.

Besides being a major industrial hub, Dahej is also an enticing tourist destination for business and leisure travellers in search of offbeat holiday spots. Less crowded, less noisy and less commercialized, the port town is ideal for a relaxing weekend. Take a break away from the city life to de-stress and detoxify your mind and body with this little trip.

Places to Visit In and Around Dahej

Sea Face – A meeting point of the Narmada River and the Arabian Sea, the Sea Face is perfect for a stroll and watching the sunset.

Jama Mosque – One of the oldest mosques around, this historical but well-preserved prayer hall is situated on the Dahej Bypass road. Constructed in the 14th century, it used to be Rani Ranakdevi’s palace before being converted into a mosque by Sultan Muhammad Begda.

Sri Swaminarayan Mandir – This serene Jain temple is a 2-hours’ ride away from Dahej on National Highway 8, Zadeshwar, Bharuch. The 175-year-old grand temple features intricate architecture, a huge garden and an in-house restaurant.

Golden Bridge – Built in 1881 by the British, this 1412-meter bridge links Ankleshwar and Bharuch.

If you have a free weekend or a couple of days, visit nearby cities and towns such as Bharuch, Ankleshwar, Rajpipla, Vadodara, and Surat. Travelling during the Navratri festival (September- October) is more enjoyable when the whole of Gujarat lights up.
