The 10-day Island Festival in Port Blair is scheduled to kick off on January 5th, 2017, at the ITF Grounds. The focal point of the event will be the exhibition which aims to highlight the progress the island administration has made across various spheres. This will be achieved through retail sale stalls, food stalls and stalls that will interest tourists looking for unique local activities. The festival will also have a floating restaurant where visitors can dine and have a great time.

In addition to this, one can expect some exquisite performances by famous artists from the mainland. This includes performances by famous music bands, Bollywood singers, performers and dancers. The Hasya Kavi Sammelan organised by the official language department of Administration is expected to draw a crowd.
