Its star-shaped path with subtle spiritual messages along the walkway is a truly mesmerizing sight. Also popularly known as the Lakshmi Narayani temple, it is 6 km away from Vellore Bus Stand.  

Jalakandeswarar Temple

Located on the premises of the Vellore Fort, Jalakandeswarar Temple is a temple that dedicated to Lord Shiva and will effortlessly fill your spiritual quench. The temple remained vacant for approximately 400 years during an invasion by Muslims before it re-opened its doors in 1981. Surrounded by water, the temple reflects the architectural prowess of Vijayanagara Empire with its exquisite 7-level gopuram (towers), stone pillars, beautiful carvings, and sculptures. 

Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple

Located at Singiri Koil, off Vellore-Polur Road, Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is 25 km from Vellore. It is believed to have been built by Rajavarman, a local chieftain, approximately 1,000 years ago on an 80 feet high small hillock. As the name says, the temple is a dedication to Lord Lakshmi Narasimha with Goddess Lakshmi by his side. A marvelous six-feet tall idol of the deity sits here. The temple also has a dedicated sanctum for Lord Sri Anjaneya.

Ratnagiri Murugan Temple

Situated on a hilltop, Ratnagiri Murugan Temple was erected by Balamurugan Adimaigal. The ancient temple has an exclusive shrine dedicated to Lord Murugan who is worshipped here in two forms - Lord Gurukulam and Lord Thirukolam. The latter form of the deity is accompanied by his two wives, Valli and Deivanai. You will find yourself soaking in the peaceful atmosphere when you climb the hill to the temple. Besides Lord Murugan, you can offer your respects to Lord Ganesha, Lord Shani, and the Navagraha as well. 

Vallimalai Subramanyar Temple

Vallimalai Subramanyar Temple drives devotees from around the world with its scenic beauty. It is a hill temple cut from a rock which is situated on the banks of River Palar and on the slopes of Javadhu Hills. You have to climb about 300 steps to reach this cave temple. Apart from Lord Murugan, you can worship Lord Vinayagar and Kasi Viswanathar at their separate shrines on the hill. You can get to the temple from Katpadi Junction Railway Station easily with about half an hour drive. 

Sri Selva Vinayagar Temple 

Dedicated to the shrines of Sri Selva Vinayagar and Somasundareswarar, this temple at Shenbakkam is only 2 km distant from Vellore Town Railway Station. The temple has an idol of Selva Vinayagar with a chariot wheel mark on his back. Experience true spirituality when you offer prayers to eleven divine swayambhu idols of the Vinayagaras present at this must-visit temple.  All Vinayagaras are present in lingam form making an ‘Om’ formation. For better facilitation of worship, the main sanctum of the temple doesn’t have any roof.
